Relay For Life Corpus Christi

What is Relay For Life?

Relay For Life offers everyone in our community the opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out overnight at a local high school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. This 12 hour walking event represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day, cancer will be eliminated.

How to get involved

1. Recruit a team. Gather 8 to 15 of your friends, family, and/or co-workers to form a team. Each team member will collect money to help fund efforts of the American Cancer Society.

2. Register now or Register On-line. A Team Commitment Form can be obtained from your local ACS office or select an event above and sign up your team. (A Registration and minimal commitment fee is required for EACH team.)

3. Choose your Team Captain. All Team Captains (or a representative from each team) should regularly attend Team Captain meetings for the most current information and ideas. A schedule for meetings is available for all Team Captains.

4. Start fundraising. Put the fun in fundraising. Come up with your own great ideas or check out for some tips. The Accounting Committee will be available to collect money at meetings leading up to the event.

5. Get ready to Relay. Will you win the Best Campsite Award this year? Be creative, decorate, and have fun. The Relay For Life event is like no other you will be treated to a very moving luminaria ceremony, laps around the track, entertainment, great food and an overall good time!
